The Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program ceremony at the Greenwich Civic Center was where a 23 Greenwich High School seniors were recognized for their achievement through the college preparatory program.

Daniel Gomez walked up on stage with his sister, Gabby Gomez, an AVID program senior. While on stage with his sister, Daniel sized up the seniors he was standing alongside.

He has someone, with his sister along with many others, to look up to as an example of how to achieve in school.

He wasn’t on stage when Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei or U.S. Congressman Jim Himes praised the students. He stood next to, and looked up to, the seniors that are heading off to college and to those whose future is awaiting them.
