MacDonald earned multiple Grammys for work including ‘Calypso Breakdown,’ ‘Just The Two of Us’ and ‘Where is The Love.’ Valerie Simpson and her late husband Nick Ashford collaborated with MacDonald on numerous hits including “Solid.” Simpson, above, donning the best shoes to cross the stage all night, performs “Trade Winds” at the Palace.
