Boston fans could care less about NY, I do not watch any NY teams. But the one thing is Boston has a LOT more class than NY. I have NEVER seen a t-shirt that says BOSTON 17 - NY & NJ 2. Amazing how you NY media people can always talk about the Yankees, Giants & Jets. We never hear you talking about the Knicks, Nets, Rangers, Islanders or Devils. Didn't the Bruins beat the Rangers 4-2 in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1972? I never hear Boston fans throwing that up into your faces. The NY media & fans only talk about what they want to talk about. It always has been that way and always will be.

Why is it that the only thing Boston fans can get excited about is a New York loss? Is it because the Yankees have 27 World Championships and the Red Sox have seven? Is it because the Giants beat the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl? Is it because New York is a better sports town than Boston? What is it?

Funny, we didn't hear from you last week after the Jets ran the Patriots off their own field.

Ball game over..Jets lose...TTTHHHHEEEE J-E-T-S LOOOOSSSSSEEEEE. The Mort Dowwney of the NFL is finally shut up. I bet the first thing the NY fans come up with will be that the Steelers cheated and video taped their practices and stole signals. All week we will hear the excuses. Poor Chucky Dolan & HBO, no Cinerella ending.

But NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had made it clear that he expects the league's players to conduct themselves appropriately on and off the field. If they don't, he takes action, and good for him.

Athletes are role models. Shouldn't we expect more from them?

In a world where our politicians are constantly lowering the bar, I find it amusing that we instead choose to focus on NFL players as our potential role models. I think that we all need to grow up and stop the sanctimonious BS. This is a game, and these players are in their positions because they are supreme athletes... not supreme beings.

The team's misconduct - on an off the field - and their classless words and actions, cannot be ignored.

Great job going up to New England and beating the Patriots. One of the best wins in franchise history.

Great prediction Charles. Typical NY prediction thinking a NY team will always win. "Miami is mediocre so today's loss means the Jets drop to 9-1 against mediocre and bad teams. Is that something to be proud of, huh, Charles?" The real winning classy team in this area comes from northeast of NYC but you idiots at the Bridgeport (CT) Post never write about them. Just keep writing your articles about the 4 NJ teams the Devils, Giants, Jets & Nets and the 5 NYC teams the Islanders, Knicks, Mets, Rangers & Yankees. How soon into the new year will you members of the NY media make your annual statement of "Yanks...team to beat...best team on paper...looks like they can punch a ticket to the 2011 World Series."

TO CHARLES COSTELLO....Woodbridge is 30 minutes from Hartford and 2 hours from the Meadowlands but when we had an NHL team in Hartford, Cablevision chose to ignore that team and instead cover the NJ teams like the Devils & Nets. Fairfield County is NOT Giants territory and the Cowboys, Dolphins, Steelers & Raiders do not have more fans here than the Patriots. Patriot fans are true blue, All those other teams are supported by men that are 40-50 y/o that were front runners when they were 10 years old.

The Meadowlands is about 45 minutes away from Greenwich, CT. Foxborough is over two hours. Fairfield County is Giants territory. The Cowboys, Dolphins, Steelers, Raiders, etc. have just as many fans in this area as the Patriots.

Dear Costello,
i have to disagree with you on this. yes i agree that the Ravens have a very good team together and a lot of weapons on both offense and defense but you have remember that they jest also have a lot of weapons themselves. they have the best one two corner combination in the league right now with Revis and Cromatre. and Jim Lenard in the backfield as well. 3 solid linebackers lead by bart scott and now a healthy kris Jenkins and Jason Taylor along with Sean Ellis. they have the best looking defense right now. there offense aswell is looking great. with Edwards, Keller and Cotchery on the sides and two amazing running backs shonne greene and LT. and LT looks to becoming to look like his old self again. i have to agree that Sanchez will have to pick it up this year, but i beileve the Jets will be a very good team this year and will win tonite.

Should be a fun season. Thanks for reading.

Didn't know you wrote this blog, too! From one Jets hooligan to another, I don't think Lito Sheppard was that big a loss. He caught passes like he had vaseline on his hands. As much as I liked Faneca (and he had the numbers backing him up for a while), his last couple of years he was faltering. I think Ducasse can absolutely take his place and do an amazing job. I am sorry to see Leon Washington go. I thought they were going to keep him around. Shonn Greene is one to watch. I can't wait for the season to start.

Didn’t know you wrote this blog, too! From one Jets hooligan to another, I don’t think Lito Sheppard was that big a loss. I can’t wait for the season to start.

Where is your predecessor? The N-Times columnist there that seemingly used any column space he had to bash the Jets year in and year out! Does he work for another newspaper? Would love to have read his pre game column on this one, and laugh.

I will be at this game - I don't buy the overpriced brew in the plastic longnecks anyway - it will be my swan song reguardless of what happens - not buying $10,000.00 worth of PSL'S - it is leaglized piracy - after 25 seasons this is the thanks I get - I'm scheduled to go on a tour of the new stadium on 1/12 - I will go my "stadium specialist" is encouraging me to do so plus yes, I'm intrested to see it but they will try to hard sell me because they are not anywhere near getting the job done with the seating. It will be intresting to see how this pans out - Just want a win - then we go from there!

Great article. I wish the Jets would have followed your prediction instead of giving that game away.
