In partnership with Art21 as part of its Access ’12 initiative, the Rowayton Library and the Rowayton Arts Center present the first of four sneak previews in advance of the premiere of the sixth season of Art in the Twenty-First Century, the only prime time national television series focused exclusively on contemporary art, on April 3 at the Rowayton Library.
This film event features refreshments, screening, activities, and discussion.
- Episode 1: Change (Tuesday, April 3 @ 7pm): This episode features artists who bear witness, through their work, to transformation—cultural, material, and aesthetic—and actively engage communities as collaborators and subjects. Ai Weiwei, El Anatsui, and Catherine Opie are featured.
- Episodes to follow include Episode 2: Boundaries on Tuesday, April 17 @ 7pm,
- Episode 3: History on Thursday, May 3 @ 7pm, and
- Episode 4: Balance on Thursday, May 17 @ 7pm.
