Returns… After Irene… All is Fine… And Free – At the Rowayton Library

by:

It is time to return to the routine of Rowayton… and for those with overdue books, dvds, audiobooks, magazines, not to worry.

  • All fines accrued during the “storm” period, are forgiven at the Rowayton Library.
  • Don’t forget to check your dvd player – there may be a dvd left in there during the power outage.
  • And, if you have found a few extra books at home that have been hiding under the sofa all summer, return them – no fear – all is forgiven.

Labor Day Week is amnesty week at the Rowayton Library.  Now through September 10th, all materials returned to the Rowayton Library will be “fine free”.

We know the weather is beautiful but this is for your safety.  Bayley was hard hit by the storm and we have serious work to do.  Entry on both of those days will only be allowed to the tennis courts.  The beach will be fully open for the Labor Day Weekend. Art and Lunch… in Rowayton or Darien

by:

The art of Hu Lindsay at UCBC Darien through September 30th

If you are bound for a lunch out in the community, why not enjoy the works of art of local artists:

  • In Rowayton… Brendan’s 101 Gallery is showing Tina Duryea and her Oil and Portraits work. Tina’s paintings combine the tradition of painterly realism with a modern sensitivity toward negative space and movement. Her portraits are executed primarily on Yupo Paper, a 100% recyclable, tree-free plastic paper made in the USA. Tina is one of a small handful of artists working with this highly specialized paper in oils… on exhibit through this month at Brendan’s 101.
  • And, if you are in Darien… a show of artwork by Hu Lindsay is on display at UCBC, 980 Post Road in Darien.  The show features almost 40 works including acrylics, collages, computer art, drawings and oils… on exhibit through September 30th at UCBC.
