The Rowayton Historical Society is delighted to announce the election of two new board members to the RHS Board of Trustees. Jeff Andrea and Denise Corcoran bring a range of talents and experience to the board and were voted in during the Annual Meeting of the society held on January 24th.
At the Annual Meeting, President Wendell Livingston reported to the membership that 2011 was another spectacular year of growth for the Rowayton Historical Society. Included in their accomplishments are the run of a six month quilt exhibition which resulted in record attendance, the grand opening of the half shell – our fabulous new gift shop, exciting discoveries among the archives – including Rowayton diaries from the mid 1800s, the launch of a fun family cooking contest – the Chili Throwdown – so successful it will be repeated annually, the creation of a beautiful 19th century garden in Pinkney Park, the continued restoration, identification and organization of the RHS archives, and a growing corps of volunteers who have contributed generously their time, talents and enthusiasm towards the preservation of Rowayton’s history.
