Milford’s interfaith community Thanksgiving Eve service will take place on Wednesday, 7 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ (Congregational), 34 West Main Street.
The worship service is sponsored by the Milford Clergy Association. Worshipers will be welcomed into the church by the music of the Connecticut Patriots Ancient Fife and Drum Corps. A combined choir of singers from local congregations will offer special music.
The children’s message will include a brief slideshow of pictures that local children have taken to express what they give God thanks for in their lives.
The Rev. Anne Marie Meyerhoffer of United Presbyterian Church will give the sermon. An offering will be collected to support Milford families in crisis through the work of the city Department of Human Services.
The offering will help the DHS provide vital outreach services such as assistance with rent/mortgage utility bills, food, clothing and prescriptions for local families. Checks should be made payable to “The City of Milford” with “DHS Families in Crisis” on the memo line.
