A city man will be arraigned this afternoon on attempted burglary charges after police allegedly caught him trying to break into a Woodmont pharmacy.

Ames Flatow, 21, of Chapel Street, was arrested at about 2 a.m. Monday morning after police performing a check of businesses in the Adams Shopping Center say they saw him climbing out a broken window of the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1387 New Haven Avenue.

The suspect fled behind the building onto Clinton Street and was found a short time later hiding in shrubs in a backyard on Kings Highway. Flatow was carrying a hachet and carrying a backpack full of burglary tools when he was taken into custody, police said.

He was held overnight on a $100,000 bond on charges of third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and interfering with police.
