Spalthoff announces mayoral run

|

Peter Spalthoff announced on his Facebook page Wednesday that he will seek the Republican nomination to run for mayor in the fall.

Here is Peter’s post, in case you don’t follow him on Facebook:

“Today was a very important day in my life and before it comes out in the press I wanted to share with my fb friends first that I have formally filed papers to run for Mayor this year as the Republican candidate here in Milford. This is very exciting, humbling and gratifying all at once and I can guarantee everyone involved in the selection process, that I will represent the Republican Party in a real positive and honorable manner. We are heading out to Florida tomorrow for a little vacation and would love some of your feed back (positive hopefully) before we go. This is awesome…………….And Susan and I are over the top pumped and ready.”

Spalthoff helped the late Fred Lisman in one of Lisman’s mayoral campaigns and later became Republican Party chairman here. More recently, Spalthoff has been the chairman of Milford’s nascent Independent Party and was that party’s mayoral standard-bearer in 2009.
