Drug Take Back Day 4-13 van with bags

More than 465 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs were collected in four hours on Saturday, during the annual “Drug Take Back Day” at the Senior Center.

Milford Police and the Milford Prevention Council co-hosted the event in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), part of a nationwide initiative to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

The drop off location was organized as a “drive thru” setup staffed by members of the Milford Prevention Council and the Milford Police Department Citizens Academy Alumni volunteers.
