NBA scout offers basketball program

Joe Meade, Northeast Regional College Scout for the NBA’s Utah Jazz will be hosting basketball skill development programs throughout July and August at the Parsons Gymnasium in Milford. Meade is a former high school and college basketball coach and the director of Hoopskills Basketball. He brings over 40 years of playing and coaching experience to his programs.

This unique program will focus on skill development through resistance training, repetition and muscle memory techniques that are designed to improve each players shooting, dribbling, passing as well as their speed, strength and agility.  Each player will complete a pre and post test on a variety of skills that can be measured and improved. Players will learn how to set goals and work hard to attain them. Individual evaluations and personalized workouts will be given to each applicant as well as a Hoopskills Basketball T-Shirt.

The skill training sessions will be held on Wednesday nights between 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the Parsons Gymnasium located 70 West River Street in downtown Milford.  The first 4 session program will run on July 10, 17, 24 and 31.  The second program will run on August 7, 14, 21 and 28.  Both programs are for boys and girls age 10-16 and will be limited to the first 40 paid applicants. The cost for each session is $85 or $150 for both.  Make up sessions are available to accommodate Summer vacation and family plans. Team and family discounts are also available.
