Engine 260 Fire Show and Muster is Saturday

From Vaughan Dumas:

“A Family Day of Fun for everyone who ever wondered what it was like to be a firefighter.”

Engine 260’s 42nd annual Antique Fire Truck Show and Muster takes place Saturday at Eisenhower Park.

Just imagine 100 shiny red antique fire trucks, 25 firefighter muster teams, a flea market and a special Children’s Fire Safety Play Area with an interactive fire education trailer.

The day’s excitement begins with the opening of the Firematic Flea Market at 8:30 a.m. You’ll find everything from old firefighting gear to toy fire trucks, books about firefighting and clothing. This is “Search and Rescue for Shoppers,” a great place to start your holiday shopping.

The traditional motorcade of 65 bright red, meticulously maintained antique fire trucks begins at 9 at the Liberty Rock (K-Mart Shopping Center).

Muster skills competition begins at 10:30 a.m. with the “Save the Baby” Ladder Climb and the Lakeside Draft for antique pumper trucks. As the day progresses, more than 25 muster teams will battle to see who’ is the best in the Tug Of War, the Midnight Alarm, the Water Barrel Blast, Arena Pumping and the Bucket Brigade (everyone gets wet).

An extensive food service menu is available all day long. All events are free to the public. Call Engine 260 for further information at 203-874-2605, or e-mail
All proceeds from the Muster benefit the Milford Recreation Department’s Camp Happiness program for special needs children.
