Drug Take-Back Day a success

More than 210 pounds of expired or unwanted prescription drugs were collected by Milford police at a Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday.

The event at the Milford Senior Center was held in conjunction with the Milford Prevention Council and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

The drugs “were collected from the public as part of a nationwide initiative to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs,” said Officer Jeff Nielsen, the police department spokesman.
