St. Patrick was from an area that is now part of Scotland, says Nancy Abbey of the Milford Public Library.
There will be singing, bag piping and Highland dancing at the library on Wednesday, March 12 at 2 p.m.by Maggie Carchrie and Friends. The free program is sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Library.
The connection between the two countries began around St. Patrick’s time, 500 AD, and Maggie and her troupe will entertain and educate the audience on Celtic culture.
Both contemporary and traditional Irish songs will be sung along with pipe tunes played and the dancing of the Irish Jig – Scottish Style– Abbey said.
