As you consider what you might give up for Lent — Ash Wednesday is tomorrow — it’s important to know that more than 2 MILLION boxes of Girl Scout cookies were delivered to Connecticut over the weekend.
(Note to Milford residents: all of the Thin Mints are already spoken for:).
Tiffany Ventura Thiele, the communications manager of the Connecticut Girl Scouts, said the Milford United Way offices on Gulf Street was one of the drop points for cookies.
The majority of the cookies will be delivered by Girl Scouts to customers that placed orders in January and the remainder will be sold at cookie booths statewide through the month of March. To find a booth in your area, visit www.gsofct.org. You can also log onto www.girlscoutcookies.org and download the Official Girl Scout Cookie Finder app to get up-to-date information on where to find cookies.
Girl Scouts of Connecticut is selling the same great eight varieties of cookies including: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Dulce De Leche, Thank U Berry Munch, and Savannah Smiles.
The proceeds from Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s cookie program stay in Connecticut and directly benefit all of the Girl Scouts in Connecticut, including the Girl Scout troop or girl from which the cookies were purchased, Thiele said.
