Safe Boating Course this Weekend

A navigation aid in Norwalk, CT.

Aren’t red channel markers supposed to display numbers instead of letters? This one, pictured above,  has an “M” on it.  Maybe it’s a preferred channel marker? Those are lettered, but they’re supposed to display both red and green bands.  Safe water marks display letters, but they have red and white bands.  What is it?

Longshore’s hosting a one-day Safe Boating Certification class this Saturday. It’s a great place to learn about navigation aids, get a refresher on boating safety basics, or just to get your safe boating certificate. Take the test at the end of the day and qualify for the required credential. Click the link or call 226-4646 for more info.
