With warming temps and longer days upon us, it’s time to start thinking boating. A good way to get ready to hit the ground running next month, and also avoid hitting the ground, is to take a safe boating class.  You’ll study weather, tides, PFDs, required equipment, navigation basics and more. For those needing a CT Safe Boating Certificate, a  Safe Boating class is a must. Classes come in many formats; if you’d like to dedicate one day to it and be done, try Longshore Sailing School’s one-day Safe Boating class. The first class of the season is this Saturday in Westport (call them for the location), with several more classes available on Saturdays this spring.
