Why:

June is National Homeownership month and BNT is celebrating with the Ribbon Cutting of the Gateway at 570, a mixed-use building providing office and residential space in an area that had been an empty lot for years. The building is Connecticut’s first Energy Star Multifamily High Rise, and is home to Bridgeport Neighborhood Trust and provides 30 integrated supportive affordable apartments.

The Development Team for the Gateway at 570 included Paul Bailey Architects (architect), Haynes Construction (general contractor), Operation Hope (social service provider), the Housing Development Team (consultant) and Steve Lichtman (attorney).

The total development costs exceeded $7M. In addition to funding from the Interagency Committee for Supportive Housing, the project also received support from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Bridgeport, Corporation for Supportive Housing, Community Capital Fund, and Wells Fargo. Work was completed in May 2014.
