The Talk At Tiger Lily’s 9-22
TRASH TO TREASURE:

Talking Tiger Lily’s centers around bargains, repurposing old treasures and reusing existing home decor elements. That’s why we raved about the new location for the Greenwich Hospital Auxiliary  Thrift. An old staple for bargain hunters off a downtown side street, the store and its concept of repurposing donating goods moved to a location with more space and higher exposure.
The Greenwich Time reports the renovated space is thrifty itself pulling from former local vendors.
“The space is outfitted with a main counter from Fortunoff in White Plains, N.Y., which closed earlier this year, and fixtures from the Port Chester, N.Y., Linens ‘n Things, which shut down many stores last year as part of a bankruptcy filing. Display tables and mirrors come from the former Gap clothing store on Greenwich Avenue.”

SHOWTIME’S TIME TO SHOW:
Drawing from Californication, Dexter, Nurse Jackie, The Tudors, United States of Tara and Weeds the sophomore return of the Metropolitan Showtime Showhouse kick off to critical acclaim. Talking Tiger Lily’s chatted with Special Projects Editor Samantha Nestor who proudly described the visual delights at this year’s design destination, Tribeca Summitt Condominiums at 415 Greenwich Street. The showhouse transforms two spaces making up 14,000 square feet and showcasing the best creative minds in interiors, horticultural and much more.

Above, the Nurse Jackie room by Chris Coleman and Angel Sanchez. Nestor pointed out the unique details the designers incorporated in designing the space. If you look closely you can make out the dialysis table and massage table  repurposed as a bed and chaise in this shot of the room.

The all-black Cocoon Room designed by Francine Gardner for The United States of Tara is a sophisticated play on a monochromatic color scheme. Details in this room as Nestor pointed out centered on a color theme and took advantage of that color in all different textures and styles.

In the Tudors room designed by Martin Albert Interiors for Piero Lissoni and Nicoletta Canesi a uniquely modern element of screen printed portraits express the stateliness of the age sensitive period in design and decor. Playing of the dramatic clothing of the period,  the team behind this Tudors installation uses bright colors and detailed jeweling to make a modern statement. Crystallized Swarovski elements help create this statement.
