Sam on the Scene at Light A Fire & A Giveaway Gift For Gab….

The Talk at Tigerlily’s

The Talk at Tigerlily’s is the internet and the wonderful sites maintained by some of the most creative and inspiring women worldwide. We got a chance to chat with Amy Allen Clark who is the woman-power behind momadvice.com.

about_photoAmy Allen Clark is a busy mother of two living in Granger, IN raising her children and helping raise awareness on a variety of lifestyle topics on her website daily. She shared some great tips with us on holiday hosting.

HOST THIS HOLIDAY:

Trim the Table: Create a stunning centerpiece with materials you already have on hand – candy, fruit, greenery or pinecones – and fill small vases with related items. To add holiday cheer, incorporate taller vases with bright ornaments, gingerbread cookies or peppermint sticks.

Subtly Set the Mood: Set a scented candle in the foyer to welcome guests with a unique fragrance and create a friendly first impression. Select a comforting scent, such as the Glade Scented Oil Candle in Apple Cinnamon, which has a soothing blend of spiced cider and homemade apple pie. Personalize each room by featuring a different scent.

Lower the Lights: Dim lighting creates an intimate atmosphere for holiday gatherings. Turn lights low and use candles to create the desired effect. Line candles along the mantelpiece or the living room end table to achieve this look effortlessly.

Here Gift of Gab was not only made for a wonderful interview which you can find on wgch.com (hit the Tigerlily’s icon to connect to past podcasts) but presents a gift for those who loved our gab.

Clark put together a wonderful giveaway for one of our lucky listeners. Be the first to comment on this blog with your email contact and win the below:

Sam on the Scene in Westport

Sam On the Scene

I shopped the scene at Moffly Media’s At Home Magazine Design District to see get a taste of what Westport has to offer. The town is a one stop shop for fashion to home furnishings. There is something for everyone, with Lucy’s catering to of-the-moment pieces that make a wardrobe sing and Henry Lehr’s wide selection simplistic comfortable, neutral staples to create a base for your closet.

To add a finishing touch, Lux Bond & Green’s is ground zero. The pieces there range from celebrity must-haves like bangles in brilliant jewel tones to classic pieces in diamond and pearls.

That’s not all, for more check out the link below:

Inside the Antiquarius After Party @ Ron Rosa’s Louie’s

side shot

From famed news anchor & friend Chuck Scarborough to the “Original Mad Man George Lois” the support for the Greenwich Historical Society’s opening night of Antiquarius was as successful as it was fun. I was thrilled to raise awareness for the event and co-host the Antiquarius After Party with my Greenwich Young Collector’s co-chair, Jen Danzi. It was “Mad” good time thanks to all our sponsors and friends who came out in their best Don Draper Duds to keep with our Mad Men theme.jen & kim

dressed to impress

The Young Collector’s Antiquarius After Party brought out a full house to Ron Rosa’s Louie’s on River Road. Ron Rosa graciously donated the space, food and “Don Draper Drinks” to create a Mad Men themed party that brought the 1960s Ad Age back to life.

The Antiquarius After-Party followed opening night at the Old Greenwich Civic Center. Antiquarius and the season full of events is the Greenwich Historical Society’s biggest fundraising drive of the year.

full shot of funWith the help of volunteers, like Annie Boardman, we raised awareness of the wonderful cause. Keeping to the Mad Men theme, Annie took RSVPs on a vintage typewriter.

The Original Mad Man, George Lois, donated a signed book. To add to the ambiance, season two of the ad agency activity planned on high definition flat screens. George Lois was one of many who helped add flare to the night.

Sponsors

AMC TV was among our sponsors offering hats, posters, games, snow globes, pens, etc.
