About Samantha Knapp

Home is where the heart is and for the young designer that means returning to the family owned design studio, Tiger Lily’s, after several years traveling the country as a broadcast news reporter.

As Knapp tells it, to work in news you must be confident and have a passion to succeed.  As a fast paced filter between the community and consumers, Knapp delivered a range of stories from breaking news to lifestyle features. Stories included touring historic mansions and celebrity homes such as Chris Kirkpatrick of N’Sync.

“I moved five times in five years each time for a better job,” Knapp said. “With every move came a new space that I could create, design and face lift to call home.”  In Providence, RI, Knapp hand-painted a black and white checker board on her damaged hardwood floors to highlight the neighborhood vibe of RISD.  In Savannah, GA, Knapp went shabby-chic, inspired by area flea markets bursting with antiques.

Knapp brings her experience back to Tiger Lily’s.  You can catch her at the design studio at 241 East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob or on the radio every Tuesday, Talking Tigerlily’s at 9:30 AM on WGCH,1490 AM.
