After its success during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Soccer Safari continues as a world soccer expedition. Considering the local aspect of writing for Hearst CT Media Group, this soccer blog covers the sport from our backyards in CT to the professional fields around the world, touching on everything from developments in local youth soccer to the exploits of American professionals in Europe.

Mike,
Great start. Looking foward to reading more. Hurry back your team needs their keeper back.

Hey Mike , Glad to have you in my country!!
Hope you had fun at the Unite behind Bafana parade! Thanks for your video you posted. I was there aswell stationed outside Discovery … wearing a Bafana shirt .. just like everyone else!! and yes blowing my Vuvuzela as loud as most!
Hope you enjoy your stay here, and let me know if you run out of ideas to do in this country! Sure you would love to play with some lion cubs or go through Soweto or even visit the Orlando Towers for some adrenaline stuff.. just an idea.

My son Brett Tweeted a link to this blog over a week ago, and I’m hooked! Thanks for bringing us such a vivid picture of both the games and the country. Keep up the great work.
