Let's get some facts straight. The problems with the police go way back, well into the eighties when the Margenot administration caved on union contracts. Lash tried to straighten it out. Likewise, Lash had little to do with Ham Ave - the BOE owned that one and toally screwed it up. As a result, He helped the incumbent School Superintendant realize there was not a future for her in Greenwich. The Police Safety complex has been needed for decades. He finally brought to bear the leadership needed to have it happen. And, finally, I don't remember career town emplyees being perp-walked out the door in a panic to save a few bucks. Lash is an arrogant, egotisical, despicable individual. The Town is in the dire straits that we are in to to his "leadership". He dissolved all the funds that Greenwich had in reserve for emergencies, he is the reason that we have the fiasco of Hamilton Ave School, he is the man that spent more time out of town than he did in the town and let his assistant do his job, he is the reason that we have problems in the Police and Fire depts and his bullying attitude toward employees and people that live in town still permeate the halls of Town Hall. It will take years to undo his " I am Jim Lash, I went to MIT" management style. His opinion was the only one that he needed since HE knew better than anyone else no matter what the facts were.
