UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to some incorrect information in a press release, it turns out that this special was earlier this month, not this week.
However, the $2 donations to the Junior United Way are ongoing.
The LBC sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience!
This week only, Garden Catering is offering 1992 prices on select “popular items” in celebration the stalwart Old Greenwich deli’s 20th anniversary.
Which raises the question, what did a high school special cost in 1992?
Also this week, the deli promises to donate $2 to the Jr. United Way for each new Facebook fan, Twitter follower or “loyalty member,” a status that begets frequent customers “nugget points” with an “I heart nuggets” card.
Looking to complete the time warp? How about cuing up that ipod to Sir Mix-A-Lot, whose “Baby Got Back” topped the charts in 1992.
From the United Way:
JR United Way to Benefit from Garden Catering 20th Anniversary Celebration
As part of a month-long twentieth year celebration, Garden Catering in Old Greenwich will be contributing $2 to the JR United Way for each new Facebook fan, twitter follower, or loyalty member who signs up during the week of February 27. Garden Catering is also offering “twenty year old” prices for many of its popular items during the promotional event. The JR United Way is grateful for this recognition and for years of Garden Catering’s special support and event sponsorship that has bolstered the success of the group’s special events.
The JR United Way, under the aegis of the United Way Youth Services Council, connects local youth to local services and works with community non-profits, the Greenwich Schools, and the Youth Division of the Greenwich Police Department to develop constructive programs, positive social outlets and community service projects. It has membership groups in nearly all of Greenwich’s secondary schools. Visit the JR United Way on Facebook at Jr. United Way.
