I liked this movie, but I thought moments were overly stylized - the few coming to mind were the slow-mo shots of the neighbor kids, or other weird off-kilter close-ups - at times it felt self-consciously "arty." While Tom Ford deserves some praise, I thought the movie was made by Firth's performance. Where the cinematography was occasionally heavy-handed, Firth was subtle and complex. It could have been shot on a Flip Video camera, and Colin Firth would have made it a compelling movie.

Funny, I remember Colin Firth being interviewed on the Daily Show, and I have no recollection of this movie's theme being discussed. Just some tittering over the fact that he did some nude shots.
