A Taliban spokesperson said if a 14-year-old Pakistani girl, who was shot in the head last week, survived, militants would try to kill her again.
Malala Yousafzai was shot after saying she wanted to get an education and become a doctor in a documentary. She is now in critical condition, the New York Times reported.
Ehsanullah Ehsan, the Taliban spokesperson, said Malala’s public crusade for education was an “obscenity.” “Let this be a lesson,” he said.
The Taliban ordered numerous schools in Pakistan to close to end female education.
