About Ezra Fitch
By portraying Ezra Fitch at a Gunn Historical Museum tour last October, I discovered that Ezra, his wife, daughter and son-in-law are buried in the Washington Green Cemetery.
Ezra had a country home here called “Little Rivers,” where the Rumsey Hall School is today. It was called “Little Rivers” because 2 rivers – the Shepaug and Bantam – merge there.
In the Romford Valley, Romford Rd. he had his own private rail road car.
Ezra co-founded Abercrombie & Fitch in 1892, and he died in 1930 and his wife in 1960. There are heirs still living here today
