Was your power out for days during Hurricane Sandy? Were you impressed by the town’s response? Did you have a great idea for something the town could do better during these storms while you were shivering and awake at 3 a.m. because your house lacked heat?
The New Canaan Office of Emergency Management will host a discussion tomorrow night, Dec.6 at 7 p.m. in the Wagner Room of NCHS on its handling of Hurricane Sandy.
An open letter from OEM Director Michael Handler invites residents to attend:
For significant events, such as Sandy, it is beneficial for the Town to understand how we prepare, respond and recover. It is equally important to all of us that we learn from you what worked well and what areas need improvement. Some of our best ideas come from suggestions we receive in discussions and reviews such as this. Present at Thursday’s meeting will be representatives from most, if not all, of our Town departments—both career and volunteer.
