The building committee that’s overseeing a $2.6 million window project at South Elementary School is holding an informational meeting to parents this Thursday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m.

The 30-minute meeting will be held in room 102 at South School and will feature a presentation by the project manager and environmental consultants.

In addition, members of the committee will provide an update on the status of the project, describe the two phases of the plan, explain the abatement work that’s scheduled for this summer, and answer questions from parents.

The project which will repair some windows and replace others, replace a failing glass block system and repair the building expansion joint, has been split into two phases. Phase one is expected to begin in July while phase two is set to take place next summer.

Following the informational meeting, the committee will hold a regular meeting at 11 a.m. at the school’s conference room.
