Need a new puppy? How about adopting one?

New Canaan’s Village Critter Outfitter, 107 Cherry St., is hosting an adoption event this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its store.

The pets will come from the local nonprofit group Leaders of the Pack, which is run by a group of women who rescue pets lost on local roads.

“We welcome and recognize the good work that Leader of the Pack does for these animals,” Shirleen Dubuque, owner of Village Critter Outfitter, said in a press release. “They really make a difference by saving these lost or abandoned pets. Adopting one of these homeless animals and/or giving a donation for such a worthy cause is a rewarding experience.”
