Wednesday’s Doug Allen concert has been postponed until Thursday night due to weather, according to Recreation Director Stephen Benko.

The Darien musician will perform with his full band Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the Waveny House patio, as part of New Canaan’s 2014 Waveny Summer Concert Series.

Allen’s music has been described as acoustic pop or “a cross between the new country sound of Zac Brown Band and bands like The Fray and Train,” according to his website.

Splitting his time between Nashville, Tenn., and Connecticut, he is a regular at many music venues around Fairfield and Westchester counties. He has recorded three albums since 2000 and has performed with Jeffrey Gaines, Edwin McCain, Blue Oyster Cult, The Radiators, among other acts.

The free concert series, which is organized by the town’s Recreation Department, is taking place every Wednesday until Aug. 28.
