Washington lawmakers mark Sandy Hook anniversary

Members of the Newtown Action Alliance and federal lawmakers are expected to hold a rally this afternoon in the nation’s capitol to mark the nine month anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre.

Those attending are expected to call on other members Congress to act on “common sense” gun reform legislation including universal background checks that failed to pass earlier this year despite overwhelming support from the public.

Members of the alliance, family members of gun violence victims, and area lawmakers including U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy and U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty are expected to attend.
