A report suggests alcohol consumption among Connecticut teens is 26%-28% higher than it is among teens nationwide.
Bethel school officials host “Dare to Talk about Drugs” Community Forum, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Bethel High School auditorium.
There will be a presentation by representatives from the Newtown Parent Connection who will share personal stories about the quiet crisis of drug and alcohol abuse among Connecticut teens.
The event is the first in a series designed to help parents talk about these issues and help them take some proactive steps to ensure their children make safe, healthy, responsible choices, and avoid the needless tragedy caused by drug and alcohol abuse.
The event is sponsored by the Bethel Public Schools, the Newtown Parent Connection, Bethel Pro-Access and Bethel Community Cares Coalition.
