One hospitalized after I-84 crash

UPDATE – (1:32 p.m.) One patient has been transported by ambulance from the scene of a tractor-trailer rollover crash on Interstate 84 to Danbury Hospital.

A second patient refused treatment, according to scanner reports.

The left lane remains closed in the area of the crash which initially closed both lanes of the westbound side of the highway.


UPDATE – (1:07 p.m.) Interstate 84 west is closed between exits 10 and 9 due to a tractor-trailer rollover crash.

The state Department of Transportation reports the 12:52 p.m. crash has caused the westbound side of the highway to close. Crews have arrived at the crash, which reportedly caused injuries.


NEWTOWN — Emergency responders are heading to Interstate 84 westbound for a reported crash with injuries.

The crash occurred between exits 10 and 9 at about 12:54 p.m.

The state Department of Transportation reports the crash involved a tractor trailer.

    These truck drivers are out of conrol. They are dangerous and inconsiderate. I am old enough to remember when they were the best drivers, not the worst.
