Update: Julian Olavarria and Spencer who have addition charges have rejected a plea deal given by the state. They are due back in court on October 14 for jury selection.
Five Danbury residents charged in connection with an assault at a home last year will be on trial Tuesday in Superior Court.
Jonathan Villa, 26, of 17 Myrtle Ave.; Eric Walsh, 26, of 3 Silver Smith Drive; sister and brother Gabriella Olavarria, 22, and Julian Olavarria, 26, both of 6 Louis Allen Drive; and Antoine Spencer, 26, of 4 Ledgmere Drive.
Police charged each of the accused with conspiracy to commit assault, conspiracy to commit threatening in the second degree, and conspiracy to commit unlawful restraint. Julian Olavarria and Spencer were additionally charged with assault, threatening, and unlawful restraint. All have pleaded not guilty to their charges.
According to Danbury police, two victims were lured by a female caller to a home, where the five were waiting to question them about cash taken from the home during a party.
When the men arrived, they were allegedly taped in chairs and interrogated about the suspected larceny. They were assaulted by two of the five suspects with the others present. The victims were able to free themselves and contacted police.
All five accused have been released from custody and will face a jury trial.
