Being the gadget geek that I am, I gravitate to the shiny. And marginally useful. Here’s one such example, solving a “problem” I had relating to an earlier post I made about counting change.
How do you know exactly how much change is in that cup?
Here’s the solution. Drop a coin through, it uses the size of the coin to determine how much it’s worth, and adds it all up. Not too shabby. Now you can be certain you’re not getting short-changed (pardon the pun) when you’re at a coin-counting machine at a bank or supermarket.
I found it at a department store for just $15, which oddly enough, beat Amazon’s price ($25 as of this posting), but in my travels I’ve found it’s not unusual for coin counters to be in the $20-$30 range.
Of course, it doesn’t wrap the change, as some other coin counters help with, so this may be only for people who prefer not to spend time with coin wrappers. This might also be a cool savings tool for those with young kids, so they can actually see their savings grow.
