Learn how to audition for film and TV roles

|

The Cultural Arts Coalition, in conjunction with Brewster Theater Company, present a film and television audition workshop on Aug. 18 in Brewster. It will be taught by Brian Dallas Field, a former NYC casting director, talent agent and  television actor.

This five-hour class will provide an introduction to the basic skills needed for television and film auditions. Students will have an opportunity to study and practice with audition material from actual film and television projects.

This class will include a general overview of the professional acting industry, from a working actor’s P.O.V, to terminology, to the relationship with an agent, to the role of the casting director.

The final 45 minutes of class will be run as an actual casting audition, and family and friends will be encouraged to attend.

This one-day workshop, open to ages 13 through adult,  will be held on Sunday, Aug. 18 and costs $50. Spaces are limited, and deadline for registration is Aug. 11.

The workshop will also serve as a helpful foundation for a more intensive, five-session film and television audition technique program to be held in the fall, although it is not required for the fall program.
