Ceiling collapase at Chestnut Grove senior living

UPDATE: 2:30 P.M.: New Milford Mayor Pat Murphy corrected an earlier police report Saturday. Murphy said the collapse at Chestnut Grove senior housing was a partial ceiling collapse from a burst sprinkler line not a roof collapse.

Fifteen seniors have been evacuated. There were no injuries, Murphy said. The tonw’s two senior buses have been dispatched to take the evacuees to the Richmond Citizen Center until relatives can pick the seniors up and take them to family homes.

 

1:47 p.m. Saturday: New Milford Police have confirmed a partial roof collapse at Chestnut Grove senior housing on Route 109 Saturday at 1:47 p.m.

Evacuation of residents being considered.
