NEW MILFORD — A 46-year-old local man is facing drunken driving charges from an erratic driving incident Sunday.

Eugene Thorne, of Bel Air Drive, New Milford was arrested Sunday after police responded to a report of a white Ford Expedition driving erratically on Grove Street, police said.

Thorne’s vehicle was observed swerving all over the road and he failed to respond to police, finally stopping his vehicle at Old Park Lane and Park Lane East intersection, police said.

Thorne was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to drive in the proper lane, disobeying signal of an officer, and operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license/registration.

On his arrest, Thorne was also found to have an outstanding warrant for failure to appear, police said.

Thorne is being held on two court set bonds of $10,000 and $2,500. His next court date is Tuesday in Danbury Superior Court on a disorderly conduct charge from March 2013 and failure to appear, and Jan. 28 in Bantam Superior Court on Jan. 5 charges in New Milford.
