Newtown Interim Schools Superintendent John Reed will present the district’s 2014-15 proposed budget at a school board meeting scheduled for Thursday night in the lecture hall at Newtown High School beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Not the time change from 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday – the meeting was cancelled due to weather.
Reed will be offering a budget that is to include board priorities focused around literacy initatives, new testing protocols and the high school accreditation process. The budget is also likely to reflect town concerns about declines in enrollment.
First Selectman Pat Llodra will be presenting her town budget to the Board of Selectmen tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Center.
The combined 2014-14 budget for town and schools is about $110 million, $71 million is the education portion.
