Bank robbery in Ridgefield

UPDATE — Ridgefield police were searching area parking lots after a bank robbery at the First Niagra Bank on Danbury Road on Friday.

Initial reports for police to be on the lookout advised the suspect may have gotten into a dark-colored Range Rover.

A Danbury police canine unit was also in the area assisting with the search.

UPDATE — The suspect sought after a bank robbery in Ridgefield is further described as a white male in his late 20s with red hair and freckles. He was wearing a green Carhart hoodie and may have gotten into a large, dark-colored SUV, possibly a Range Rover, according to police dispatches.

RIDGEFIELD — Police are looking for a suspect in relation to a reported bank robbery on Danbury Road.

Police in the area are on the lookout for a white man wearing a green hoodie who fled the First Niagra Bank on Danbury Road in Ridgefield after a bank robbery during which a handgun was threatened but not shown shortly after 1 p.m., according to police dispatches.
