Danbury fire hydrant flushing

Crews with the city’s water department will be flushing fire hydrants throughout the city in coming weeks as part of the annual maintenance of the system.

Officials said routine flushing is necessary to provide good water quality and fire protection services. Some customers may experienced reduced water pressure or discolored water during the flushing process.

If experiencing discolored water, run the cold-water tap until it clears. During periods of discoloration postpone washing clothes and limit your use of hot water until the cold water clears.
