NEWTOWN — Town police arrested a 29-year-old man Wednesday after he allegedly stole a credit card from a purse left unattended in a Queen Street grocery store.

David Cunningham, of Newtown, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and credit card theft after the incident.

Police responded to Queen Street after receiving a report of suspicious activity in the area and found Cunningham.

Police said he stole the card from a pocketbook left unattended inside Caraluzzi’s Grocery Store on Queen Street.

He was later released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 24.
