UConn freshman Ater Majok has removed his name from the NBA Draft, a move that doesn’t necessarily mean the 6-foot-10 forward will be playing for the Huskies in 2009-10.
The school announced the move in a one-sentence statement released Monday afternoon.
Although he won’t be selected by any NBA teams this year, Majok still could opt to play professional basketball instead of trying the college game. He is considering a move to Europe to play basketball there, and may not be in Storrs when the fall semester begins.
Majok has yet to play for the Huskies and will not be eligible to play until December when the first semester ends at UConn.
