BIG EAST OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jonathan Baldwin • So. • WR • Pittsburgh • Aliquippa, Pa.
Baldwin averaged 28.4 yards per reception, finishing with 142 yards and a touchdown on five catches to key Pittsburgh’s sixth straight win — a 27-22 decision against Notre Dame. Baldwin came up with a diving, 36-yard reception in the end zone in the second quarter to give the Panthers a lead they would not relinquish and he set up another score with an acrobatic 51-yard catch on the Panthers’ first play of the third quarter.
BIG EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chris Campa • Sr. • LB • Louisville • Orlando, Fla.
Campa had a career-high 15 tackles to go with two sacks, three tackles for loss and a forced fumble — all game highs — in a 10-9 win against Syracuse. Campa keyed a Cardinal defense that limited the Orange to 266 yards of offense and forced two turnovers.
BIG EAST SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Devin McCourty • Sr. • CB • Rutgers • Nanuet, N.Y.
McCourty had a forced fumble on punt coverage and came up with his sixth career blocked kick with a punt block in the Scarlet Knights’ 31-0 win against USF. McCourty also had 36 yards on kickoff returns and registered a team-high nine tackles to help Rutgers to its first shutout of a Big East opponent since 1993.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Mardy Gilyard, WR, Cincinnati — Had 142 all-purpose yards, including 98 yards on kickoff returns, in a 24-21 win against West Virginia.
Isaiah Pead, RB, Cincinnati — Had 18 carries for a career-high 175 yards and a touchdown in a 24-21 win against West Virginia.
Antonio Lowery, LB, Rutgers — Had eight tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble in a 31-0 win against USF.
Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers — Had five receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown to go with 13 rushing yards and a two-point conversion in a 31-0 win against USF.
Chandler Jones, DT, Syracuse — Had 10 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack in a 10-9 loss at Louisville.
