Our friends over at the New Haven Register are reporting that former UConn point guard Kevin Ollie will in fact replace Pat Sellers and become UConn’s next assistant coach.
Ollie’s name has been prominent in the rumor mill since Sellers resigned.
UConn spokesman Kyle Muncy wouldn’t confirm or deny Ollie’s spot when asked Tuesday evening but said that in regards to the position being filled: “nothing is super imminent at this point.”
Still not sure if this is set in stone (I don’t doubt the Register’s source, just haven’t heard it from the horse’s mouth myself, yet) but the Huskies no doubt want to work quickly with recruiting season coming up.
Ollie would seemingly be a good fit: a former Husky who knows Jim Calhoun and the program, an NBA veteran, a smart man who would likely be a good recruiter, and _ perhaps a key point _ a squeaky clean reputation.

This would be an oustanding hire by Coach Calhoun and the Athletic Department. Jimmy Calhoun means business and Kevin Ollie is a hard nosed honest player who worked extremely hard at Uconn.
