Al Azulphar of the Greenwich High School boys basketball team and Olivia Hompe of the New Canaan girls hockey team are this week’s winners of the BlueStreak-Overtime FCIAC Player of the Week award.
Hompe, a freshman, is the first person to receive the honor two times.
Azulphar and Hompe will receive plaques and T-shirts from BlueStreak.
Azulphar closed out the regular season with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to St. Joseph and 30 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks in a victory over Ridgefield.
Hompe’s spectacular rookie season continued in last week’s FCIAC Tournament. She had three goals and an assist in a 5-1 semifinal win over Ridgefield, then was named most valuable player after finishing with two goals and an assist in a 3-0 win over Darien in the final.
