Last call: nominations for the BlueStreak-Overtime FCIAC Male and Female Athlete of the Winter awards will continue until noon on Sunday. Then five male and female finalists will be selected and a vote on this blog held until next Friday to select the winners, who will be given trophies and T-shirts from BlueStreak.

I nominate Gregory Langston. He has the Leadership with dedication in giving Team support to lead from game to game with having the ability to show and give his Defensive position in every game thats played thats what brought him to becoming a Nominee.
Greg has worked hard and long throughout his HS career to be the best that he could be; and has rose to the occasion (with injuries), leading his team to the FCIAC finals and then to the State Semi-finals. He is a true role model to his family, friends, and peers. Vote for Greg Langston!
I nominate the whole Bridgeport Central Boys Basketball Team for going undefeated on the court and winning the FCIAC and Class LL State Championships. Competing in the best league in the State and the largest and toughest Class in the State, Central dominated every opponent it played this year. Their accomplishment is the story of the Winter Sports Season in the FCIAC.
I would like to nominate Casey Smith of Danbury. 18.2ppg, 9.7rpg, 2.8bpg, 2spg. All FCIAC first team, All State, Gatorade National HS Player of the Week as a Sophomore.
