Five unbeaten teams that produced quality wins to remain unbeaten are this week’s finalists for the Overtime FCIAC Team of the Week.
Your choices are: the Darien boys cross country team, the Staples volleyball team, the Westhill field hockey team, the Norwalk football team and the Trumbull boys soccer team.
The winner will get T-shirts with our new logo courtesy of BlueStreak Sports Training, Garden Catering, the Stamford Advocate, Karl Chevrolet and Innovative Health and Rehabilitation.
The Blue Wave defeated Danbury, Staples and Norwalk, handing the Hatters their first dual-meet loss in seven years.
The Wreckers swept matches with Westhill and Brien McMahon to remain, at 4-0, one of just two unbeaten teams in the league.
The Vikings upset league power Greenwich, 1-0, and then knocked off Bethel in a non-league game, 1-0, to improve to 3-0.
The Bears opened the season 2-0 for the first time since 1999 with a 25-12 victory over Stamford.
The Eagles posted three straight shutouts, 1-0 over Westhill, 2-0 in a showdown with Norwalk and 1-0 against Fairfield Ludlowe.
The voting is open until noon on Wednesday. So vote below and check back to find out who is this week’s Overtime FCIAC Winter Team of the Week.

Don’t forget to take a look at Norwalk/McMahon Co-op swim this week!
Thanks…
The schools you mention are not part of our readership area. We want to keep this to the one league we cover completely.
Dave – how about making this the Fairfield County team/player of the week? Will include more student athletes in your main demographic and provide some recognition for those attending schools outside of the FCIAC (e.g. Barlow, Weston, Fairfield Prep, etc.).
Thanks, that was the reason for starting this.
Actually a push started at 11:30 – a common strategy.
This is a great way to spread the word about the accomplishments of all of these teams… congrats to the schools and the players!
Within the last 20 minutes the Trumbull votes have increased by 50 … at 1am Monday morning. This is all in fun, let’s keep it that way
EXCELLENT JOB VIKINGS!!!!
Three great wins. That’s why you are up here!
Both Norwalk and Westhill were undefeated when Trumbull beat them. Norwalk had scored 13 goals in their previous three wins and had only allowed one goal. Westhill had scored 10 goals and allowed only one goal in their prior two games. Ludlowe had four wins and only one loss, scoring 15 goals in their first four games. Trumbull shut them all out.
Sorry, it is an FCIAC Team of the Week award.
wat about weston vs brookfield football!
