We were going to have Ladies Night II since male teams have won all but one week, but we decided to throw a boys team into the mix along with five female teams as your finalists to crown the newest Overtime FCIAC Team of the Week.
Your choices: The Norwalk/Brien McMahon co-op girls swimming team, the Greenwich girls soccer team, the Darien field hockey team, the Danbury volleyball team, the Staples football team and the New Canaan girls soccer team.
The winner will get T-shirts with our new logo courtesy of BlueStreak Sports Training, Garden Catering, the Stamford Advocate, Karl Chevrolet and Innovative Health and Rehabilitation.
Norwalk/McMahon improved to 7-0 for the first time ever with wins over Fairfield Warde and Ridgefield.
The Cardinals improved to 10-1-3 with a 2-1 win over Trumbull and a 2-0 shutout of Darien.
The Blue Wave are now 11-0 after a 4-1 win over Wilton in a battle of teams with the two best records, and an 8-0 shutout of Fairfield Ludlowe.
The surging Hatters upped their record to 11-4 after straight set wins over Trumbull, Fairfield Ludlowe and St. Joseph.
The Wreckers remained unbeaten at 5-0 following an impressive 38-16 road win at Trumbull.
The Rams are now 10-2-2 after defeating unbeaten St. Joseph, 3-2, along with 3-0 wins over Stamford and Staples.
The voting is open until noon on Wednesday. So vote below and check back to find out who is this week’s Overtime FCIAC Team of the Week.

The Wreckers OT win was the bomb!
There is a LONG history of teams planning late final night surprises to win the vote. It has happened a lot. Like I said, I put up the safeguards and monitor everything.
Hurray For Norwalk girls swim and divers. You have been amazing this year! School spirit is alive in Norwalk.
But really 600 points at 11pm at night seems very odd – I work late peaked 30 minutes ago and the vote has skyrocketed 600 points does everyone in greenwich post at night?? The team mascot should be night owls!
It is based on votes. After talking with a lot of people after last year we decided to try it without the panel. It is very hard to tell a team that won the voting it did not win. The best we can do is put up the most deserving field of teams each week and go with the vote.
Is the winner solely decided on who receives the largest number of votes? or is there some kind of panel/group that makes a supplementary decision as well?
SHE is the BEST!!!
Thank you for clarification Dave. Hopefully the other teams will have a chance to catch up.
And Norwalk/McMahon had over 500 votes on Sunday. What does it mean? Different teams vote at different times. I happened to cover the Greenwich girls soccer game last night and the players mentioned they hadn’t had time and were going to get the vote out today. Still amused that everyone thinks there is vast cheating going on. The reason we have three full days of voting is to try and give teams a fair chance to get the word out to their supporters.
Seems Greenwich Soccer is posting like 10 votes every two minutes…..over 500 votes today already! Hmmmmm
Go Hatters! One game away from going undefeated at home. Awesome season girls! So proud of each and everyone of us!
Hatters Volleyball has come a long way this season!! We are so proud of our girls. Good luck against Stamford and Ridgefield this week! Go Hatters!
